Goa - Reflections
· Tremendous warmth from everyone I met. Lots of big hearts and selfless giving.
· This experience has shown me what the important things in life are.
· It’s impossible to explain what I feel about India and myself in just a few sentences. One thing I do know is that after this trip I will have 30 more brothers and sisters and that’s a great feeling!
· Everything I was exposed to in Goa I had been exposed to before but this on this trip I was really aware of my surroundings and I allowed everything to affect me both mentally and emotionally.
· I will always be thankful for what I have and live life in the present; I will never again just expect things to just be given to me.
· Visiting Goa has open my eyes to just how privileged I am compared to most of the world’s people. Also, the things I worry about are absolutely nothing in comparison to what others have to face.
· We are all so, so lucky to live in such comfortable homes, have a great education and enjoy good food, good health and lots of material possessions.
· Respect all human beings equally, smile and say hello to everyone - “Don’t just stand back and watch’ – get involved!
· To describe India, I turn to its buses. From one perspective the buses appear broken down, over-crowed and noisy but this just reflects the world of differences and diverse people often living and working in incomprehensible and impossible conditions.
· The Goan culture amazes me. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming even to people they have never met before; it really is like being part of a big family. Goa is a beautiful place!
· Hearts have been opened to us on this voyage; I leave mine here in Goa.
· Words lack emotion, hugs, smiles, smells, atmosphere, sharing and deep love, how can I ever express my life here in Goa in just words.
