The Kindred Project shares the common humanitarian sense of purpose of all NGO’s: to develop human resources among minorities by delivering services at local, national and international levels to enable community members to participate in projects and build their capacity to become self-reliant.

All student participants are encouraged to understand and help manage the diverse aspects project developmen from planning, fund-raising and implementation to assessment and extension.
The Kindred Project is currently involved in four programmes worldwide from Morocco, Ecuador and India to Uganda. Young people are encouraged to become involved in one or more of these projects overseas, or in equally valuable local projects within Southern Spain, as part of a broader SIS global citizenship programme.

All participants in Kindred Project activities are expected to make informed choices as to how they exercise their own rights and responsibilities, as expressed through diverse activities and practical work opportunities with young people around the world. The skills that will be developed include: planning, teamwork, risk assessment, cultural perspectives, on-site skills (teaching, painting, building, farming, etc), wilderness activities, and leadership training.
